Financial services veteran Matthew W. Carper joins Louisville-based investment
advisory firm in portfolio management and equity research
(Louisville, KY) — Parthenon LLC has named Matthew W. Carper, CFA, as senior vice president and partner. He joins the firm’s four founding partners and two administrators, and will focus on portfolio management and equity research efforts.
“Matt brings a depth of experience in a variety of complex fiduciary relationships and has excellent credentials in investment management and research,” said Todd P. Lowe, president. “He has been a top performer in his profession for many years, and we feel he represents the very best in the next generation of advisers.”
Carper is a summa cum laude graduate of Lipscomb University with a bachelor’s degree in both finance/economics and computer information systems. He earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, having passed the three rigorous examinations consecutively. He comes to Parthenon from PNC Wealth Management (previously National City Private Client Group), where he had served as a senior portfolio manager/vice president since 2007. He began his career as an equity analyst at Hilliard Lyons, and later worked as an associate technology analyst for SG Cowen Securities in Boston. He also previously served in the finance department for Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, as well as an investment officer for the Kentucky Teachers Retirement System.
“I am thrilled to become an owner of a privately held investment management business with such a longstanding reputation of stability and excellence,” said Carper. “Our team has more than 100 years of combined investment experience, and there has been zero turnover here since the partners founded the firm in 1999. I am looking forward to the autonomy Parthenon’s environment offers to work with a limited number of high net worth families, their trusts, and family and nonprofit endowments.”
